The Oberschallerhütte Alfenalm is located in the secluded Villgraten Valley at 1700 metres above sea level in East Tyrol. This rustic mountain lodge features an infra-red cabin. The Oberschallerhütte in Kalkstein / Innervillgraten consists of 4 bedrooms with twin beds, a living room with a kitchen featuring a wood-fired and an electric stove, a bathroom with a toilet and an outhouse next to the hut. All rooms are insulated with sheep's wool and electricity is provided. Hot and cold running water is available from Easter to the end of October. During winter you can get water from the well in front of the hut with the large can. The water can be heated up in a container, which is integrated in the kitchen's wood-fired stove. This is also the only source of heat in the Oberschallerhütte. In winter, guests can use the guests' shower at the hosts private house in Kalkstein, which is 10 minutes on foot away. Cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, a coffee machine and bed linen are provided. The lodge is reachable by car even in winter and you can park right in front of the lodge. Bobsleighs are available for free. The Hochpustertal-Silian Ski Area is a 15-minute drive away.
